A cold front has moved into the NW Gulf. Latest surface observations depict gentle to moderate winds prevail. Seas are in the 1-2 ft range over the NE Gulf, and 1-3 ft over the remainder of the Gulf waters. The front will reach from Tampa Florida to 25N96W to Veracruz Mexico by late Thursday. Pulses of strong winds are expected between the front and the coast of Mexico through late Fri. The front will stall and weaken across the southern Gulf late in the week. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Latest surface observations indicate gentle to moderate winds over the western Caribbean, with moderate to fresh winds over the eastern Caribbean as well as the tropical north Atlantic waters. Seas are in the 3-4 ft range over the western Caribbean, 4-6 ft over the eastern Caribbean, and 4-5 ft over the tropical north Atlantic forecast waters. Winds and seas will increase in the NW Caribbean, especially the near the Yucatan Channel Fri night and Sat as winds surge across west-central Cuba. Elsewhere, a broad area of low pressure will slowly develop over the SW Caribbean through Saturday. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A surface trough extends across eastern Cuba and the central Bahamas. Surface observations indicate light to gentle winds over the northern waters with moderate to fresh winds over the southern waters. Seas are in the 3-4 ft range over the northern waters, 4-5 fr over the southern waters outside the Bahamas, and 1-3 ft west of the Bahamas. The surface trough will gradually dissipate through Thursday. High pressure will retreat eastward as a cold front moves off Florida into the into the northwest waters by late Thu.
