High pressure prevails over the northern Gulf waters. Latest surface observations indicate light to gentle winds prevail. Seas are in the 1-2 ft range over the NE Gulf, and 2-4 ft elsewhere. The ridge will prevail through early next week. A thermal trough will develop over the Yucatan each day. The trough will shift westward into the SW Gulf each night, where it will dissipate each morning. Expect moderate to fresh NE flow tonight over the SE and S central Gulf as a trough moves westward into the Bahamas, with gentle to moderate breezes persisting thereafter across the Gulf. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... A surface trough prevails north of the area. Latest surface observations indicate gentle to moderate winds prevail over the forecast waters. Seas are in the 2-4 ft range over the eastern half of the Caribbean, 3-5 ft over the western half of the Caribbean, and 4-5 ft over the tropical north Atlantic forecast zones.
