Marine Weather Discussion for the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea,
and Tropical North Atlantic from 07N to 19N between 55W and 64W
and the Southwest North Atlantic including the Bahamas

...GULF OF MEXICO...

Moderate to fresh southerly flow over the NW Gulf between 
ridging over the northern Gulf and lower pressure over Texas and 
northern Mexico will diminish as the ridge builds over the
eastern Gulf through Fri. A pair of troughs will move into the
Bahamas and central Caribbean, tightening the pressure gradient
by late week and resulting in moderate to fresh winds and seas to
5 ft over the SE and S central Gulf by Sat.
  
...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN
55W AND 64W... 

Troughing N of Hispaniola and the NW Caribbean will interact with
a ridge over the eastern Gulf to allow fresh NE winds to persist
today through the Windward Passage and into Sat in the lee of 
Cuba. These winds will diminish through late Sat as the trough 
shifts W. Gentle to moderate winds will persist elsewhere, except
for fresh winds pulsing off Colombia mainly at night. 

...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS...

A trough along 70W will move W through the Bahamas through early
next week. Moderate to locally fresh NE winds are expected N of 
27N within about 240 nm W of the boundary through late Fri with
seas to 6 ft. Ridging will build in the wake of the trough,
supporting fresh winds off the N coast of Hispaniola late Sun.
