A cold front extends from a coastal Mississippi 1013 mb low pressure center, to the Mexico coast near 22N98W. 20 kt to 30 kt NW winds are from 23N to 28N from the front westward. Expect the front to extend from the FL west coast near 29N toward the NE corner of the Yucatan Peninsula just after midnight on tuesday. 20 kt-to-30 kt NW winds are forecast for the next 18 hours or so along the coast of Mexico near Veracruz for the next 18 hours. NW gale-force winds are forecast to continue until 48 hours. The cold front will be moving through the Straits of Florida by the end of the next 48 hours. Expect moderate-to-fresh northerly winds during day one, and fresh-to-strong northerly winds during day two. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... A tropical wave is along 91W/92W from the SW corner of the Gulf of Mexico, through Guatemala, into the eastern Pacific Ocean. Scattered moderate to isolated strong rainshowers cover the area from 20N southward between 84W and 96W. The wave will be absorbed by a broader area of cyclonic wind flow that spans Central America. The tropical wave is combining with a western Atlantic Ocean ridge in order to generate a large area of fresh to strong winds and seas of 8 to 11 ft in much of the Caribbean Sea. The winds and seas will diminish by Tue afternoon as a cold front heads SE from the U.S.A. This front will enter the NW Caribbean on Wed morning, then stall on Thursday. Prevailing winds in the Caribbean Sea are expected to remain light to moderate on Thu and Fri, with a weak ridge remaining in place to the north. A surface trough will develop in the western Caribbean Sea on Friday. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... Strong high pres building across the W Atlc will maintain fresh to locally strong E to SE winds, especially S of 22N through Monday. A cold front is forecast to move off the SE U.S.A. coast Tuesday morning. Strong S winds and seas building to 8 ft can be expected N of 30N W of 75W. The front may be accompanied by rainshowers and thunder, that are capable of producing strong gusty winds and rough seas. The front will weaken as it moves SE Wed through Thu night.
