A stationary front is located from Louisiana to 26N95.5W to 19N95W. It will remain in place through today then begin to drift slowly NW tonight before dissipating by Fri morning. Expect fresh to strong winds and seas of 7 to 10 west of the front across the west- central and SW Gulf through this afternoon. A broad surface trough currently north of eastern Cuba will reach the eastern Gulf of Mexico on Friday and continue westward through Sunday. This trough will be accompanied by an increase in showers and thunderstorms, and a freshening of easterly winds. Elsewhere winds and seas should remain tranquil throughout the next several days. A new cold front should reach the northwestern Gulf Monday morning with strong to near-gale force winds across the westernmost Gulf by Monday afternoon. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... A weak tropical wave currently across the central Caribbean will move across the western Caribbean by Friday accompanied by scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. Some enhancement of the trades to fresh or strong with seas to 8 ft is expected north of Colombia each night from Friday night through Sunday night. Another tropical wave currently near 48W/50W will reach the forecast waters along 55W Friday. While winds should remain 20 kt or less and seas less than 8 ft with the passage of the wave, the system should enhance shower and thunderstorm activity as it progresses westward. Elsewhere winds and seas will remain relatively tranquil throughout the period. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A broad surface trough N of eastern Cuba will move W across the forecast waters through Fri. This trough along with strong high pressure to the N will enhance the winds to near 20 kt through Friday E of Florida, with seas E of the Bahamas of 6 to 8 ft through today. Expect scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms with possible gusty winds and briefly building seas with this trough. After the trough and associated weather moves through the area on Friday, fresh easterly winds will linger offshore northern Florida through the upcoming weekend.
