Tropical Depression Irma continues to move northwest over the southeastern United States, with a waning influence on the Gulf of Mexico. Lingering swell over 8 ft will diminish through the day today, as fresh to strong winds over the northern Gulf decrease to moderate through this morning. A weak pressure pattern will set up in the wake of Irma with mainly gentle to moderate winds and 1 to 3 ft seas prevailing through the end of the week. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Hurricane Jose is centered around 500 nm north of Hispaniola, and will make a clockwise loop over the next few days to the north of the area before finally moving northwest to north later this week. As the system makes its southern portion of the loop over the next few days, large swell may propagate into the Atlantic zones north of 20N. Elsewhere, a tropical wave is passing across the eastern Caribbean. This wave will enter the central Caribbean on Wednesday, and reach the western Caribbean by Friday. Another tropical wave over the central Atlantic will reach 55W by this weekend. Otherwise, a weak pressure pattern due to Jose to the north will result in mainly gentle to moderate winds through Thursday night. High pressure will begin to build north of the region by Friday which will increase trades slightly, and bring fresh easterlies along the northern coast of Colombia and Venezuela at night. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... Tropical Depression Irma is moving NW over the southeastern United States, with decreasing affects over the Atlantic waters through this morning.
