Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with ship, buoy, and CMAN data depict gentle to moderate winds and seas in the 1-3 ft range prevail over the forecast waters. High pressure will prevail over the northern waters through the week. A thermal trough will develop over the Yucatan peninsula late each afternoon. The trough will drift westward into the southwest Gulf during the overnight hours where it will dissipate each morning. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Tropical Storm Don is moving into the tropical north Atlantic forecast waters. A ridge of high pressure prevails over the southwest north Atlantic waters north of the area. Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with ship, buoy, and CMAN data depict fresh to strong winds over the central Caribbean, moderate to fresh winds over the eastern Caribbean, and moderate to fresh winds over the western Caribbean except for the Gulf of Honduras where locally strong winds are noted. Seas are in the 6-9 ft range over the central Caribbean, 4-6 ft over the eastern Caribbean, and 3-5 ft over the western Caribbean. Outside of Tropical Storm Don, moderate to fresh winds with seas in the 6-8 ft range prevail over the tropical north Atlantic waters.
