The northern portion of a tropical wave is moving across the Bay of Campeche enhancing convective activity. Latest satellite derived winds and surface observations show light to gentle winds and seas less than 2 ft across the basin. A weak surface high will drift west across the northern Gulf through Thursday. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Light to moderate winds prevail across the eastern and western Caribbean, with moderate to fresh trades in the tropical north Atlantic, and fresh to locally strong winds in the central Caribbean. High pressure will build across the Atlantic north of the area early in the week, and tighten the pressure gradient across the forecast waters. A tropical wave will interact with a low pressure currently centered to the east of it, moving across the Lesser Antilles early Tuesday and into the central Caribbean Wednesday. This small system has a medium potential to become a tropical cyclone during the next 2 days.
