Broad low pressure is centered over the south central Gulf with active convection over the southeast Gulf. Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with ship, buoy, and CMAN data depict winds reaching gale force over the southeast Gulf, moderate to fresh winds over the northeast Gulf, and gentle to moderate winds over the western Gulf. Seas are in the 8-14 ft range over the southeast Gulf, 4-6 ft over the northeast Gulf, and 2-4 ft over the western Gulf. The broad low has a high probability of developing into a tropical cyclone over the next couple of days. There still remains considerable uncertainty with the overall structure, strength, and location of the feature over the Gulf waters through midweek. Will maintain continuity with previous forecast packages in keeping a general northwest track with this system through the next 48 hours, then is forecast to track more in a northwest to north motion thereafter. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... The Central American gyre has started to lift northward into the Gulf of Mexico. Potential Tropical Cyclone Two is moving across the southern tropical north Atlantic forecast zones. Outside of the winds reaching 35 kt with Potential Tropical Cyclone Two, latest satellite derived winds and seas along with ship, buoy, and CMAN data depict strong to near gale winds over the northwest Caribbean, and moderate to fresh winds over the remainder of the forecast area. Seas are reaching near 17 ft over the far southern forecast zones of the tropical north Atlantic waters, and near 14 ft over the northwest Caribbean. Potential Tropical Cyclone Two will continue its westward movement, across the southern Windward Islands Tuesday, then dissipating in the central Caribbean midweek. Conditions will slowly improve through midweek over the far northwest Caribbean waters. Elsewhere winds and seas will increase over the central Caribbean through midweek, then diminish toward the end of the week. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS...
