High pressure prevails over the forecast waters. Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with ship, buoy, and CMAN data depict light to gentle winds over the northeast Gulf, and gentle to moderate winds elsewhere. Seas are in the 1-2 ft range over the northeast Gulf, 4-5 ft over the northwest Gulf, and 2-4 ft elsewhere. A thermal trough will develop late each afternoon over the Yucatan Peninsula. The trough will shift westward across the southwestern Gulf waters during the overnight hours and dissipate over this area each morning. High pressure will prevail elsewhere over the Gulf waters through Wed night. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with ship, buoy, and CMAN data depict moderate to fresh trade winds over the central Caribbean, with gentle to moderate trade winds over the remainder of the Caribbean as well as the tropical north Atlantic forecast zones. Seas are in the 5-8 ft range over the central Caribbean, 3-5 ft over the eastern Caribbean, 5-7 ft over the western Caribbean, and 5-6 ft over the tropical north Atlantic waters. Winds and seas across the forecast waters will continue to decrease this weekend. High pressure will build back north of the area early next week, once again tightening the pressure gradient and increasing winds and seas by midweek. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A weakening cold front extends from near Bermuda to the northern Bahamas. Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with ship, buoy, and CMAN data depict gentle to moderate winds over the far southern waters while light to gentle winds prevail elsewhere. Seas are in the 2-4 ft range outside the Bahamas and 1-3 ft west of the Bahamas. The front will dissipate by Sunday.
