Marine Weather Discussion for the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea,
and Tropical North Atlantic from 07N to 19N between 55W and 64W
and the Southwest North Atlantic including the Bahamas

...GULF OF MEXICO... 

A cold front extends from southeast Louisiana to northeast
Mexico. Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with
ship,buoy,and CMAN data depict fresh to strong winds over the 
northeast Gulf, with moderate to fresh winds prevailing
elsewhere over the Gulf waters. The cold front will continue to
shift eastward over the next couple of days, stalling over the
southeast Gulf on Friday. Active convection will prevail well
ahead of the front. High pressure will build in the wake of the
front and prevail through the weekend. 

...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN
55W AND 64W...

A high pressure ridge extends across the southwest north Atlantic
waters. Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with 
ship,buoy,and CMAN data depict fresh to strong winds over the 
central Caribbean, moderate to fresh winds over the remainder of
the Caribbean, and gentle to moderate winds over the tropical 
north Atlantic. Seas are in the 7-9 ft range over the central 
Caribbean, 4-6 ft over the remainder of the Caribbean, and 5-6 ft
over the tropical north Atlantic waters. High pressure will 
shift closer to the area through Thursday before retreating 
eastward through the weekend. This will bring an increase in 
winds and seas over the central Caribbean waters through the end 
of the week before decreasing through the weekend.

...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS...

High pressure prevails over the forecast waters. Latest 
satellite derived winds and seas along with ship,buoy,and CMAN 
data depict fresh to strong winds over the northwest waters,
moderate to fresh winds over the remainder of the northern waters
and moderate winds prevail over the southern waters. The ridge
will shift southward through Thursday then retreat eastward 
Friday. This will enable a cold front to move into the northwest 
waters Thursday morning. Near gale winds will prevail east of the
front tonight into Thursday, where the pressure gradient is 
tightest between the front and surface ridge. The northern part 
of the cold front will shift eastward, moving east of the area by
Saturday. The southern part of the front will stall across the 
northern Bahamas Friday and gradually dissipate through Saturday.
High pressure will build in the wake of the front this weekend.
