High pressure prevails over the forecast waters. Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with ship...buoy...and CMAN data depict moderate to fresh winds over the northwest Gulf, light to gentle winds over the northeast Gulf, and gentle to moderate winds elsewhere. Seas are in the 4-5 ft range over the northwest Gulf, 1-2 ft over the northeast Gulf, 2-3 ft over the southeast Gulf, and 3-4 ft over the southwest Gulf. High pressure will prevail over the northern waters through Thursday night. A surface trough will develop over the Yucatan peninsula each evening. This trough will propagate westward into the southwest waters during the overnight hours before dissipating each morning. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with ship...buoy... and CMAN data depict fresh to strong winds over the south central Caribbean waters, gentle to moderate over the remainder of the Caribbean, and moderate to fresh over the Tropical North Atlantic forecast zones. Seas are in the 4-6 ft range over the south central Caribbean, 3-4 ft over the north central and eastern Caribbean, 3-5 ft over the western Caribbean, and 5-6 ft over the Tropical North Atlantic forecast zones. Winds will continue to pulse to fresh to strong over the south central Caribbean through Thursday night. High pressure building north of the area will generate fresh to strong nocturnal winds over the windward passage each night starting Monday night. Otherwise conditions will generally remain the same through Thursday night. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A dissipating stationary front extends from near 31N60W to the windward passage. Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with ship...buoy...and CMAN data depict moderate to locally fresh winds within 300 nm west of the stationary front, light to gentle winds east of the front, and gentle to moderate winds elsewhere. Seas are in the 4-6 ft range over the eastern waters, 3-4 ft over the western waters outside the Bahamas, and 1-3 ft west of the Bahamas. The stationary front will dissipate today. A surface trough will develop over the eastern waters north of Puerto Rico tonight. High pressure will shift off the east coast of the United States tonight. The pressure gradient will tighten between the trough and area of high pressure which will strengthen winds west of the trough tonight. The surface trough will linger over the eastern waters through the forecast period while high pressure will continue to prevail north of the area.
