A weak pressure pattern will set up through Saturday, maintaining gentle breezes and slight seas over most of the Gulf. Moderate to fresh southeast return flow will set up over the NW Gulf Sunday ahead of a cold front advancing in the southern Plains, becoming fresh easterly flow across the Gulf Monday as the front nears the Texas coast. The front will likely stall along the Gulf coast from Texas to Florida Tuesday, allowing for the possibility of fog near the coastal waters. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... A cold front pushing into the NW Caribbean extends from 22N81W to 21N87W. The front will stall from Windward Passage to the Gulf of Honduras Saturday then become diffuse Sunday. High pressure NE of the area in the Atlantic will weaken and shift eastward ahead of the advancing cold front. Except for an area of strong winds and seas to 8-9 ft that will linger off the coast of Colombia near Cartagena, moderate trade winds and subsiding seas will prevail across the region through Tuesday. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... Scattered thunderstorms persist just ahead of a cold front that bisects the basin from 31N70W across the Bahamas to central Cuba. Scatterometer and buoy data show fresh to strong westerly winds north of 27N behind the front and fresh SW winds north of 29 to 30 north ahead of the front. The front will weaken and stall from 31N65W to Windward Passage Saturday, then dissipate from 25N65W to central Hispaniola Sunday.
