A cold front reaches from west central Florida to the northwest Gulf. The eastern portion will stall and lift north through tonight ahead of low pressure developing in the north central Gulf. Strong northeast winds will briefly follow the cold front over the far northwest Gulf as the low pressure shifts eastward, with the trailing front sweeping across the southeast Gulf through late Monday. Fresh northerly flow will follow across the Gulf Tuesday through mid week as a reinforcing front moves across the basin. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Relatively weak high pressure north of the region will support moderate to fresh trade winds over most of the Caribbean through mid week, except for pulses of 20 to 25 kt off Colombia. Easterly swell in excess of 8 ft will subside over the tropical north Atlantic waters west of 55W by late Sunday, returning by late Tuesday. A cold front will enter the far northwest Caribbean Wednesday, with some potential for fresh to strong northerly winds over much of the northwest Caribbean Thursday behind the front as it reaches from eastern Cuba to Belize by late Wednesday. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A 14 UTC scatterometer pass indicated 20 to 25 kt northerly flow behind a cold front reaching from 31N65W to east central Florida. The front will stall and lift north through Sunday ahead of low pressure emerging along the northeast Florida coast. A strong pressure gradient between the low pressure and ridging to the north will support strong to near gale force winds north of the warm front and east of the low pressure Monday, with possibility of minimal gale force north of the front between 70W and 75W late Monday through Monday night.
