...LOWELL RAPIDLY INTENSIFYING INTO A MAJOR HURRICANE...
 
The satellite presentation of Lowell has improved the last several 
hours. A deep ring of cold convection wraps around a small eye 
feature that is becoming more evident in infrared and visible 
satellite imagery. Objective intensity estimates have been steadily 
increasing the last few hours. The initial intensity has been raised 
to 110 kt, making Lowell a major category 3 hurricane, and is 
rapidly intensifying.

A Special Advisory will be with an updated intensity forecast will 
be issued shortly.
