DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK
----------------------
At 200 AM PDT (0900 UTC), the center of Hurricane Linda was located
near latitude 19.3 North, longitude 119.2 West. Linda is moving
toward the west near 12 mph (19 km/h).  A turn toward the
west-southwest is anticipated this evening followed by a turn 
back to the west on Monday.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 115 mph (185 km/h) 
with higher gusts.  Linda is a category 3 hurricane on the 
Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale.  Continued gradual weakening 
is forecast during the next several days.
 
Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles (35 km) from the
center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 105 miles
(165 km).
 
The estimated minimum central pressure is 959 mb (28.32 inches).
 
 
HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND
----------------------
SURF:  Swells generated by Linda are expected to affect portions of
the coast of southwestern Mexico and the southern and western coast
of Baja California Sur over the next few days.  These swells are
likely to cause life-threatening surf and rip current conditions.
