SUMMARY OF 400 PM CDT...2100 UTC...INFORMATION ---------------------------------------------- LOCATION...31.4N 96.4W ABOUT 130 MI...210 KM NNW OF HOUSTON TEXAS ABOUT 55 MI...90 KM N OF COLLEGE STATION TEXAS MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS...15 MPH...30 KM/H PRESENT MOVEMENT...WNW OR 300 DEGREES AT 14 MPH...22 KM/H MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE...1010 MB...29.83 INCHES WATCHES AND WARNINGS -------------------- SUMMARY OF WATCHES AND WARNINGS IN EFFECT: Flash flood emergencies are in effect for parts of southeastern Texas. Flash flood watches are in effect for parts of eastern Texas and western Louisiana. DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 400 PM CDT (2100 UTC), the remnants of Imelda were located near latitude 31.4 North, longitude 96.4 West. The remnants are moving toward the west-northwest near 3 mph (5 km/h). Maximum sustained winds are near 15 mph (30 km/h) with higher gusts. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1010 mb (29.83 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- RAINFALL: Imelda is expected to produce the following rainfall amounts through Friday: Across the Upper Texas Coast into far southeast Texas...additional 3 to 5 inches with isolated storm totals of 35 to 45 inches. Across portions of southwest Louisiana...An additional 1 inch with isolated totals of 3 inches. Rest of east Texas...2 to 4 inches with isolated totals around 8 inches. These rainfall totals may compound ongoing flash flooding. TORNADOES: Isolated tornadoes will be possible today over parts of Middle and Upper Texas Coast.
