DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK
----------------------
At 500 AM HST (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Norman was
located near latitude 26.0 North, longitude 154.4 West. Norman is
moving toward the northwest near 9 mph (15 km/h). Norman is forecast
to turn back to the north-northwest later today, then move
generally northward tonight through Sunday night.
 
Maximum sustained winds are near 60 mph (95 km/h) with higher gusts.
Gradual weakening is forecast during the next couple of days, and
Norman may become a post-tropical gale center tonight or Sunday.
 
Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 160 miles (260 km)
from the center.
 
The estimated minimum central pressure is 998 mb (29.47 inches).
