DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 800 AM PDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Gilma was
located near latitude 14.9 North, longitude 128.4 West. Gilma is
moving toward the west-northwest near 17 mph (28 km/h), and this
motion is forecast to continue for the next 2 to 3 days.

Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts.
Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours.
Weakening should begin thereafter.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches).
