DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 800 AM PDT (1500 UTC), the center of Hurricane Fabio was located
near latitude 15.2 North, longitude 115.6 West.  Fabio is moving
toward the west-northwest near 15 mph (24 km/h).  A west-northwest
to northwest heading at a similar forward speed is expected through
the next several days.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 105 mph (165 km/h)
with higher gusts.  Some additional strengthening is possible later
today and Fabio is forecast to be near major hurricane strength
tonight.  Steady to rapid weakening is expected to begin on
Wednesday, and Fabio will likely become a tropical storm on
Thursday.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 40 miles (65 km) from the
center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 160 miles
(260 km).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 969 mb (28.62 inches).
