DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK
----------------------
At 300 PM MDT (2100 UTC), the center of Hurricane Fabio was located
near latitude 13.8 North, longitude 111.8 West. Fabio is moving
toward the west-northwest near 10 mph (17 km/h).  The hurricane is
forecast to maintain a west-northwest heading with an increase in
forward speed for the next several days.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 85 mph (140 km/h)
with higher gusts.  Additional strengthening is expected over the
next 24 hours, and Fabio could be near major hurricane strength on
Tuesday.  Steady to rapid weakening is forecast to begin by
Wednesday and will continue through the end of the weak.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km) from the
center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 160 miles
(260 km).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 980 mb (28.94 inches).
