There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect. For more information on Gordon, please see products issued by your local National Weather Service office. DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 1000 AM CDT (1500 UTC), Gordon was located near latitude 35.3 North, longitude 92.0 West. Gordon is moving toward the north near 7 mph (11 km/h) and this motion is expected to continue over the next 12 hours, then turn more toward the northeast Friday night. Maximum sustained winds are near 10 mph (19 km/h). Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours as the storm become increasinlgy extra-tropical The estimated minimum central pressure is 1013 mb (29.92 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- RAINFALL: Gordon and its transition to an extra-tropical low could produce total rain accumulations of 3 to 6 inches over Missouri into the Midwest, with possible isolated maximum amounts of 10 inches through Monday. This rainfall will likely cause local flooding and flash flooding.
