DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 900 AM MDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Norma
was located near latitude 21.6 North, longitude 114.5 West. The
depression is moving toward the west near 5 mph (7 km/h).  A turn
to the west-northwest is expected to occur by tonight.

Maximum sustained winds remain near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher
gusts.  Weakening is forecast, and Norma is expected to degenerate
into a remnant low on Wednesday.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches).
