DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 800 AM PDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression
Fifteen-E was located near latitude 15.9 North, longitude 125.0
West.  The depression is moving toward the west near 5 mph (7
km/h).  A slow west-southwestward motion is expected tonight and
Saturday, followed by a turn toward the north by Sunday night.

Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts.
Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and the
depression could become a tropical storm on Saturday.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches).
