DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 200 AM PDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Kenneth was
located near latitude 16.0 North, longitude 126.1 West. Kenneth is
moving toward the west near 15 mph (24 km/h). A slower
west-northwestward motion is expected today, and a turn toward
the northwest is forecast to occur by late Monday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 70 mph (110 km/h) with higher
gusts.  Strengthening is expected, and Kenneth is forecast to
become a hurricane today.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 80 miles (130 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 996 mb (29.42 inches).
