DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 300 PM MDT (2100 UTC), the center of Hurricane Hilary was located
near latitude 16.7 North, longitude 113.2 West. Hilary is moving
toward the west near 13 mph (20 km/h) and a west or west-northwest
motion with some decrease in forecast speed is expected for the next
couple of days.

Maximum sustained winds remain near 105 mph (165 km/h) with higher
gusts.  Some slow weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles (35 km) from the
center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 105 miles
(165 km).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 972 mb (28.71 inches).
