DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 200 AM PDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Greg was
located near latitude 17.8 North, longitude 139.5 West. The
depression is moving toward the northwest near 13 mph (20 km/h), and
this general motion is forecast to continue through today.  A
gradual turn toward the west-northwest and then the west is expected
tonight and on Thursday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts.
Slow weakening is expected during the next couple of days, and Greg
is forecast to degenerate into a remnant low by Wednesday night.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches).
