DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 800 AM PDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Greg was
located near latitude 15.4 North, longitude 136.8 West.  Greg is
moving toward the west-northwest near 10 mph (17 km/h), and this
general motion is expected to continue through Wednesday.  A turn
toward west is forecast by early Thursday.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 40 mph (65 km/h)
with higher gusts.  Some weakening is forecast during the next 48
hours.  Greg is forecast to be a tropical depression by late
Wednesday and then should degenerate into a remnant low by Thursday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 70 miles (110 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1005 mb (29.68 inches).
