SUMMARY OF WATCHES AND WARNINGS IN EFFECT:

A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for...
* The Pacific coast of Mexico from Salina Cruz to Puerto Escondido

A Tropical Storm Watch means that tropical storm conditions are
possible within the watch area, generally within 48 hours.  A
Tropical Storm Warning may be required for a portion of the coast
of southeastern Mexico later this evening.

For storm information specific to your area, please monitor
products issued by your national meteorological service.


DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK
------------------------------
At 700 PM CDT (0000 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Two-E
was located near latitude 14.2 North, longitude 97.4 West. The
depression is moving toward the northeast near 2 mph (4 km/h) and
this general motion is expected to continue with some increase in
forward speed during the next couple of days. On the forecast track,
the center of the depression should approach or move over the
Pacific coast of Mexico by late Thursday or Friday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher
gusts. Slow strengthening is forecast, and the depression could
become a tropical storm tonight or Thursday.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches).


HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND
----------------------
WIND:  Tropical storm conditions are possible within the watch
area by late Thursday.

RAINFALL: The depression is expected to produce total rainfall
accumulations of 8 to 12 inches across the Mexican state of Oaxaca
with isolated maximum totals of 20 inches possible.  This rainfall
is likely to produce life-threatening flash floods and mudslides.
