DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 800 PM PDT (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Orlene was
located near latitude 19.7 North, longitude 123.8 West. Orlene is
moving toward the west near 13 mph (20 km/h).  A continued westward
motion with a small increase in forward speed is expected during the
next several days.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 65 mph (100 km/h)
with higher gusts.  Additional weakening is expected during the next
48 hours.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 70 miles (110 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 998 mb (29.47 inches).
