DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 300 AM MDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Kay was
located near latitude 19.5 North, longitude 113.0 West. Kay is
moving toward the northwest near 6 mph (9 km/h), and this
general motion is expected to continue for the next couple of
days.

Maximum sustained winds remain near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher
gusts. No significant change in strength is anticipated today or
tomorrow.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 60 miles (95 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1000 mb (29.53 inches).
