DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 900 AM MDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Kay was
located near latitude 19.1 North, longitude 111.5 West. Kay is
moving toward the northwest near 8 mph (13 km/h) and this general
motion should continue during the next 48 hours with a slight
decrease in forward speed.

Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts.
Slight strengthening is possible during the next couple of days.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 60 miles (95 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1002 mb (29.59 inches).
