DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 200 PM PDT (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Ivette was
located near latitude 14.7 North, longitude 127.3 West.  Ivette is
moving toward the west near 14 mph (22 km/h), and this motion is
expected to continue through Friday.  A west-northwestward motion
with a decrease in forward speed is expected Friday night and
Saturday.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 50 mph (85 km/h)
with higher gusts.  Additional strengthening is forecast during
the next 48 hours, and Ivette could become a hurricane on Saturday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 70 miles (110 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1002 mb (29.59 inches).
