DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 800 PM PDT (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Ivette was
located near latitude 14.6 North, longitude 123.4 West.  Ivette is
moving toward the west near 16 mph (26 km/h), and the cyclone should
continue moving in this same direction at a slightly slower rate of
forward speed during the next two days.

Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts.
Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Ivette
could become a hurricane by Friday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 70 miles (110 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1004 mb (29.65 inches).
