DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 200 AM PDT (0900 UTC), the center of Hurricane Georgette was
located near latitude 18.5 North, longitude 128.5 West.  Georgette
is moving toward the northwest near 5 mph (7 km/h), and a turn
toward the west-northwest with some increase in forward speed is
expected over the next 48 hours.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 80 mph (130 km/h)
with higher gusts.  Continued rapid weakening is forecast during the
next 48 hours, and Georgette is expected to become a tropical storm
later today.

Georgette is a small hurricane.  Hurricane-force winds extend
outward up to 10 miles (20 km) from the center and
tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 45 miles (75 km).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 985 mb (29.09 inches).
