DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 200 PM PDT (2100 UTC), the center of Hurricane Georgette was
located near latitude 15.7 North, longitude 125.4 West. Georgette is
moving toward the west-northwest near 10 mph (17 km/h).  A turn
toward the northwest and a decrease in forward speed are expected
tonight.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 105 mph (165 km/h)
with higher gusts.  Some additional strengthening is expected
tonight, followed by slow weakening on Monday and faster weakening
on Tuesday.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 15 miles (30 km) from the
center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 70 miles
(110 km).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 972 mb (28.71 inches).
