DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 300 PM MDT (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Frank was
located near latitude 19.1 North, longitude 110.6 West. Frank is
moving toward the west-northwest near 7 mph (11 km/h) and a west or
west-northwest track is expected for the next couple of days.

Maximum sustained winds remain near 65 mph (100 km/h) with higher
gusts.  Little change in strength is forecast during the next day
or so, with weakening forecast to begin on Monday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 90 miles (150 km)
from the center.  Socorro Island recently reported a wind gust to
53 mph...85 km/h.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 997 mb (29.44 inches).


HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND

SURF:  Swells associated with Frank are affecting the coasts of the
southern Baja California peninsula and the state of Sinaloa.  These
swells could cause life-threatening surf and rip currents.  Please
consult products from your local weather office.
