DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 300 AM MDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Estelle was
located near latitude 17.2 North, longitude 114.0 West. Estelle is
moving toward the west-northwest near 9 mph (15 km/h) and this
general motion is expected to continue for the next couple of days.

Maximum sustained winds are near 70 mph (110 km/h) with higher
gusts.  Strengthening is forecast during the next couple of days,
and Estelle is expected to become a hurricane later today.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 150 miles (240 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 991 mb (29.27 inches).
