DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 900 AM MDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Estelle was
located near latitude 15.7 North, longitude 109.0 West. Estelle is
moving toward the west-northwest near 8 mph (13 km/h), and this
general motion is expected to continue for the next 48 hours.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 50 mph (85 km/h)
with higher gusts. Additional strengthening is expected during the
next 48 hours, and Estelle is forecast to become a hurricane
on Sunday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 80 miles (130 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1000 mb (29.53 inches).
