DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 300 PM MDT (2100 UTC), the center of Hurricane Darby was located
near latitude 15.4 North, longitude 113.6 West.  Darby is moving
toward the west near 12 mph (19 km/h), and this motion is expected
to continue during the next few days.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 75 mph (120 km/h)
with higher gusts.  Additional strengthening is forecast during the
next 48 hours.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles (35 km) from the
center, and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 90 miles
(150 km).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 992 mb (29.30 inches).
