DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 200 PM PDT (2100 UTC), the center of Hurricane Celia was located
near latitude 15.2 North, longitude 126.2 West. Celia is moving
toward the west near 9 mph (15 km/h), and this motion is expected
to continue through tonight.  A turn toward the west-northwest
is forecast to begin on Tuesday.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 100 mph (155 km/h)
with higher gusts.  Little change in strengthen is expected through
tonight. Slow weakening is forecast to begin on Tuesday.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 30 miles (45 km) from the
center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 140 miles
(220 km).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 973 mb (28.74 inches).
