DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 800 PM PDT (0300 UTC), the center of Hurricane Celia was located
near latitude 15.0 North, longitude 123.5 West. Celia is moving
toward the west near 13 mph (20 km/h), and a gradual turn toward
the west-northwest is expected over the next 48 hours.

Maximum sustained winds are near 80 mph (130 km/h) with higher
gusts.  Some strengthening is forecast on Monday, but slow
weakening is forecast to begin on Tuesday.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 15 miles (30 km) from the
center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 140 miles
(220 km).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 988 mb (29.18 inches).
