DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 200 PM PDT (2100 UTC), the center of Hurricane Celia was located
near latitude 15.0 North, longitude 122.5 West. Celia is moving
toward the west near 14 mph (22 km/h), and this motion is expected
to continue through Monday.  A turn toward the west-northwest is
forecast to begin by Monday night.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 80 mph (130 km/h)
with higher gusts. Additional strengthening is expected through
Monday. Slow weakening is forecast to begin on Tuesday.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 15 miles (30 km) from the
center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 140 miles
(220 km).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 988 mb (29.18 inches).
