DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 200 AM PDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Blas was
located near latitude 21.2 North, longitude 135.2 West.  The
depression is moving toward the west near 12 mph (19 km/h), and this
motion is expected to continue through tonight.  A turn toward the
west-southwest is expected on Monday.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 35 mph (55 km/h) with
higher gusts.  Blas is expected to weaken to a remnant low later
today.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1007 mb (29.74 inches).
