DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 200 PM MST (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Rick was
located near latitude 14.8 North, longitude 107.0 West.  Rick is
moving toward the northwest near 8 mph (13 km/h).  A turn toward the
west-northwest with some additional increase in forward speed is
expected on Friday.

Maximum sustained winds remain near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher
gusts.  Some strengthening is possible tonight and Friday, followed
by weakening on Saturday.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 105 miles (165 km)
from the center, over the northwestern quadrant of the circulation.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1002 mb (29.59 inches).
