progress of this system.


DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK
------------------------------
At 1000 AM CDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression
Twenty-E was located near latitude 13.3 North, longitude 94.4 West.
The depression is moving toward the west near 2 mph (4 km/h).  A
turn toward the west-southwest with some increase in forward speed
is expected later today and tonight.  A turn toward the west and
then the west-northwest is forecast on Wednesday with some further
increase in forward speed.

Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts.
Strengthening is forecast, and the depression is expected to become
a tropical storm later today and reach hurricane strength on
Thursday.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches).
