DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 200 PM PDT (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Ignacio was
located near latitude 11.9 North, longitude 136.2 West. Ignacio is
moving toward the west near 12 mph (19 km/h).  This general motion
is expected to continue tonight, followed by a turn to the
west-northwest on Thursday.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 65 mph (100 km/h)
with higher gusts.  Some strengthening is forecast during the next
48 hours, and Ignacio is forecast to become a hurricane on Thursday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 45 miles (75 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 998 mb (29.47 inches).
