DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 800 AM PDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Twelve-E
was located near latitude 13.2 North, longitude 132.4 West.  The
depression is moving toward the west near 6 mph (9 km/h), and this
general motion with some increase in forward speed is forecast
during the next day or so.  A turn toward the west-northwest is
forecast by late Wednesday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts.
Strengthening is forecast, and the depression is expected to become
a tropical storm later today.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1005 mb (29.68 inches).
