DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 1000 AM CDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Blanca was
located near latitude 13.5 North, longitude 104.1 West.  Blanca is
moving toward the northwest near 5 mph (7 km/h).  A slow
northwestward to west-northwestward motion is expected today.
Little motion is expected on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 40 mph (65 km/h) with
higher gusts.  Additional strengthening is forecast during the next
48 hours, and Blanca is forecast to become a hurricane on Tuesday.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1004 mb (29.65 inches).
