Individual waves may be\nmore than twice the significant wave height.\n\nPMZ001-231000-\nSynopsis for the E Pacific within 250 nm of Mexico\n256 PM PDT Wed Jul 22 2026\n\n.SYNOPSIS...Hurricane Fausto is near 17.2N 122.0W at 2 PM PDT, \nand is moving west at 10 kt. Maximum sustained winds are 70 kt \nwith gusts to 85 kt, and the minimum central pressure is 983 mb. \nFausto will move to 17.5N 123.6W Thu morning, 17.9N 126.1W Thu \nafternoon, 18.2N 128.8W Fri morning, 18.4N 131.5W Fri afternoon, \n18.7N 134.2W Sat morning, and 19.0N 136.6W Sat afternoon. Fausto \nwill change little in intensity as it moves to near 19.7N 141.2W\nSun afternoon. Swells generated by Fausto will persist through\nThu before fading. These swells are likely to cause life- \nthreatening surf and rip current conditions. In the Gulf of \nCalifornia, mainly gentle to moderate southerly winds are \nexpected, increasing to fresh speeds Fri night through Sat night.\nFresh northerly winds are forecast in the Tehuantepec region \nduring the overnight and early morning hours through the week, \nwith locally rough seas. A tropical wave, with axis along 92W, \ncontinues to produce a large area of disorganized showers and \nthunderstorms. Gradual development of this system is expected, \nand a tropical depression is likely to form over the weekend \nwhile it moves generally west-northwestward at 10 to 15 mph, \nremaining well offshore of Mexico.\n\n$$\n\nPMZ009-231000-\nMexico Border S to 30N within 60 nm of shore-\n256 PM PDT Wed Jul 22 2026\n\n.TONIGHT...NW winds 20 to 25 kt. Maximum sustained winds are 70 kt
with gusts to 85 kt, and the minimum central pressure is 983 mb.
Fausto will move to 17.5N 123.6W Thu morning, 17.9N 126.1W Thu
afternoon, 18.2N 128.8W Fri morning, 18.4N 131.5W Fri afternoon,
18.7N 134.2W Sat morning, and 19.0N 136.6W Sat afternoon. Fausto
will change little in intensity as it moves to near 19.7N 141.2W
Sun afternoon. Swells generated by Fausto will persist through
Thu before fading. These swells are likely to cause life-
threatening surf and rip current conditions. In the Gulf of
California, mainly gentle to moderate southerly winds are
expected, increasing to fresh speeds Fri night through Sat night.
Fresh northerly winds are forecast in the Tehuantepec region
during the overnight and early morning hours through the week,
with locally rough seas. A tropical wave, with axis along 92W,
continues to produce a large area of disorganized showers and
thunderstorms. Gradual development of this system is expected,
and a tropical depression is likely to form over the weekend
while it moves generally west-northwestward at 10 to 15 mph,
remaining well offshore of Mexico.

$$

PMZ009-231000-
Mexico Border S to 30N within 60 nm of shore-
256 PM PDT Wed Jul 22 2026

.TONIGHT...NW winds 20 to 25 kt.
